Friday 22 July 2005 9.00am EDT
Tomorrow we celebrate the 6th anniversary of Chandra's launch and 6
years of successful scientific operations. The spacecraft and
instruments continue to operate superbly well and we look forward with
continued excitement to the coming year of new science discovery!
Chandra passed through the second, third and fourth eclipses of the 2005 summer season on July 15, 18 and 20 with nominal power and thermal performance. The final eclipse of the season will occur on July 23. A real-time procedure was completed on July 21 to update the on-board ephemeris. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of the target of opportunity GRB050709. |
