Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 22 July 2016 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Chandra passed through the eighth and ninth eclipses of the season on Jul 17 and 20 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance. A real-time procedure was executed on Jul 20 to set the short eclipse flag to "true" in preparation for the last eclipse of the season.

Of note this week was the announcement on Jul 18 of the Cycle 18 Peer Review recommended programs. For details see: http://cxc.harvard.edu/target_lists/cycle18/index.html

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below an includes an observation of FO Aquarii, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Jul 14, an observation of MAXI J0556-332, which is a follow-up to a Target of Opportunity accepted on May 3, and an observation of M82 offset 1 coordinated with NuSTAR.
