During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. Of note this week was the release on Dec 15 of the Cycle 18 Call for Proposals. The proposal submission deadline is 15 March 2016. In conjunction with the call was the release of the CIAO 4.8 analysis software system, CALDB 4.7.0, MARX 5.2 and of CXCDS 10.4.3 for standard processing. The CIAO release includes several tool enhancements and updates. The CALDB release includes time-dependent ACIS gain files for August-October 2015, improved CTI-correction and QE for all ACIS CC-mode observations, and the latest background event files and time-dependent Gain Maps fot the HRC-I. For details see: http://cxc.harvard.edu/proposer/ and http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao/releasenotes/ciao_4.8_release.html The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes observations of 2MASS J04123491+3529592 and 2MASSi J0733092+455506 coordinated with ground-based observatories and NuSTAR respectively. |
