Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 26 December 2014 8.00am EST

During the last week the observing schedule was interrupted due to high radiation associated with solar activity. The loads were halted at 11:52pm EST on Dec 21 through a ground command to execute the SI Safing SCS 107. This ensured that the accumulated radiation dose for ACIS remained below the allowed threshold. All spacecraft actions were nominal. A real-time procedure was executed on Dec 22 to disable SCS-29, which was enabled during the safing sequence. A replanned schedule for resuming science observations was uplinked on Dec 22 with 65.1ks of science loss.

The observing schedule was interrupted again due to high radiation associated with solar activity on Dec 23. The loads were halted at 6:33am EST through a ground command to execute the SI Safing SCS 107. This ensured that the accumulated radiation dose for ACIS remained below the allowed threshold. All spacecraft actions were nominal. Real-time procedures were executed on Dec 23 to disable SCS-29, which was enabled during the safing sequence, and to update the observation identifier number, to aid CXCDS processing of the interrupted observation. A replanned schedule for resuming science observations was uplinked on Dec 24 with 61.6ks of science loss.

The schedule of targets for the next two weeks is shown below
