Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 13 June 2014 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was used to monitor the momentum unload that was executed from the on-board command loads on Jun 8; the unload performance was nominal. A second real-time procedure was executed on Jun 11 to update the ACIS Flight Software. The software patch prevents the "Trickle Bias Anomaly" in which the ACIS Back End Processor starts telemetering event data before the bias data have been completely telemetered. This can lead to a truncation of the bias data and in extreme cases can cause the memory that tracks pixels with charge above the event threshold (the "Threshold Crossing Plane") to latch up.

An update to the Telemetry Database was promoted to operations on the OCC Data System on Jun 6. The update contains changes to expected configuration values and thermal limits that have accumulated over the past year.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of SXP 1062, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Jun 3 and is coordinated with Swift, and an observation of GRB 130427A, which is a follow-up of a TOO accepted on Dec 23.
