| During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
Of note last week was an observation of the cluster A1795 performed on Mar 20 that required the Science Instrument Module (SIM) to move 3,000 motor steps further than it had previously moved in the mission. A risk assessment for the move was performed as part of the observation planning. Telemetry indicated that the move completed nominally. A Chandra press release was issued on Mar 22 describing observations of peculiar outbursts from an Ultra Luminous X-ray source in the galaxy M74. The data provide evidence that source, a black hole, has a mass of approximately 10,000 solar masses, which would place it in a possible new class of intermediate mass black holes.
