Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 21 January 2005 1.00pm EST

During the last week the observing schedule was interrupted following a high radiation event at 9:14am EST on Jan 16 that stopped the daily load and activated the science instrument safing sequence (SCS 107). All actions were nominal and loads will be restarted once radiation levels from this significant event have fallen sufficiently.

Command loads were uplinked to place the spacecraft in the proper configuration for the 3rd and 4th eclipses of the 2005 Winter season. Chandra passed through the eclipses on Jan 17 and 19 with nominal power and thermal performance.

In addition, a real-time procedure was completed on Jan 14 to update the on-board ephemeris.

------------------------------------------
The schedule of targets for the next week will be finalized once the
radiation levels have fallen to acceptable levels.

------------------------------------------

All spacecraft subsystems continued to support nominal operations.
