Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 2 July 2010 9.00am EDT

During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to include observations of GRB100628 and Cir X-1 that were accepted as a Target of Opportunity on June 28 and 29 respectively. The replacement loads were uplinked on June 30. Planned observations of PGC1206166, SDSS J135920.99+5137, and SPT-CL 0552-5709 were impacted and will be rescheduled at a later date.

A Chandra image release was issued on June 30 of CID-42, an unusual object discovered in the Cosmic Evolution Survey. By combining data from Chandra and other telescopes, evidence is found for a recoiling black hole in the system. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2010/cid42/
