During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
A test was completed on Dec 1 to measure the cooling effects on the ACIS focal plane of turning off the Science Instrument Module (SIM) FA6 heater. Turning off the FA6 heater is expected to create additional margin in control of the ACIS focal plane temperature following a similar step taken in April when the ACIS detector housing heater was turned off. A real-time procedure was executed on Dec 2 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer. Of note this week was the conduct of the cycle 10 EPO peer review held at the CXC. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of Eta Carina coordinated with Suzaku. |
