During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to include a
40 Ks observation of the source 3C66A that was accepted as a fast
turn-around Target Of Opportunity (TOO) on Oct 1. Loads were replanned and will be uplinked on Oct 3. An observation of AEGIS-3 was impacted by the TOO and will be rescheduled in a later load.
An aspect camera dark current calibration was performed from the on-board loads on Sep 29. Assessment of the data indicates nominal aspect camera performance and that the number of CCD warm pixels is increasing at the expected rate. A real-time procedure was conducted on Oct 1 to patch the ACIS flight software. The new version (44, Standard C, Optional C) includes code changes that address a number of issues such as preventing Back End Processor (BEP) telemetry packet loss under certain timing conditions and preventing a BEP reset on Front End Processor powerdown. The patch uplink and subsequent reboot of the BEP and restart of the digital electronics housekeeping were completed nominally. A real-time procedure was executed on Oct 1 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer. The schedule of targets for the next week (starting with the TOO) is shown below. |
