During the last week, Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.
A real-time procedure was conducted on 22 May to collect raw-mode data from the ACIS S0 chip without running in squeegee mode. The procedure was run as part of an investigation into using pre-cursor events to mitigate CTI degradation on-orbit. A series of further related tests will be run from the daily-load over the next 2-3 months. Of note this week was the approval for operations of a new version of the Off-Line System (OFLS) ground software. The new version (9.1B) provides a number of improvements and bug fixes including an increased optimization of the scheduling algorithm and a better calculation for Earth avoidance during slews. The new software is scheduled to begin operational use on May 29. The planned observations for the coming week are shown below. |
