Operations CXO Status Report

Wednesday 10 November 1999 9.00am EST

During the last 48 hours Chandra completed observations of Procyon with HRC-S and LETG, passed through the radiation belts and completed the associated ACIS CTI measurements, and performed a calibration observation of Capella with HRC-S and LETG.

The Observatory successfully passed through its first luna eclipse on Monday 11/8 starting at 3.20 pm and the profile and power system performance were as expected. An engineering software patch was uplinked to ACIS on Monday at 5pm to run an on-orbit test to mitigate the FEP-0 parity error problem. Initial results from the on-orbit test were not fully as expected, and will be analyzed. Further lab tests will be performed to optimize the patch before final installation.

During the next 48 hours, observations will be completed of Capella, Cygnus X-2, the observatory will pass through the radiation belts with associated ACIS CTI measurements, and a calibration observation of HZ 43 will be started.

The spacecraft subsystems continued to operate nominally.
