Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 9 April 2004 10.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was conducted on Apr 4 to dump a portion of the OBC memory. The dump was performed to support planning for a possible ACIS bake-out.

A Chandra press release was made on Apr 5 describing the first X-ray measurement of the extent of Titan?s atmosphere. The observation of Saturn?s largest moon was possible due to a rare transit of Titan across the Crab Nebula. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/04_releases/press_040504.html

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of the Earth and of 1229-021 coordinated with the Hubble Space Telescope.
