Operations CXO Status Report

Thursday 5 August 1999 7.00am EST

The following is an overview of the events that occurred over the last 24 hours. Completed a successful 5 minute IPS #4 burn using Liquid Apogee Engines (LAE) #2 and #4. The new perigee is now 5,657 km, the apogee is 139,141 km and the orbital period is 61 hours 7.3 minutes. IPS #5 burn is scheduled for Saturday, August 7 at 1:43 AM and will be an approximately 8 minute burn also using LAE #2 & #4.

Measured optical cavity pressure of 8.57 E-06 Torr. Pressure has been reduced from 8.8 E-06 in the last 24 hours

Performed ACIS internal calibrations.

Performed Dark Current Calibrations on the Aspect Camera Assembly.

Events scheduled for the next 24 hours

  • Continue ACIS calibrations.
  • Develop updated Chandra orbit parameters and targeting plans for IPS #5
  • Perform Earth Scan 20 in preparation for IPS #5.
