Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 21 March 2008 8.30am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Of note last week was the Chandra Cycle 10 proposal deadline at 6pm EDT on March 20. The submission process proceeded without problems. The proposal count will be reported next week.

A Chandra press release was issued on March 20 describing observations of a supernova light echo in the Large Magellanic Cloud that has provided the best ever determination of the power of the supernova explosion. The result establishes a power new method for studying supernovae. For further details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/08_releases/press_032008.html

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of NGC2264 coordinated with Corot.
