Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 29 February 2008 7.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Of note this week was the approval by the Flight Director Board to turn off the ACIS detector housing heater during all perigee passages. The decision follows a series of cooling tests that indicate that the turn-off will reduce the thermal load on ACIS focal plane due to the overall increasing heating trends of the Observatory and relieve mission planning constraints.
