Friday 6 October 2006 9.00am EDT
During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
Real-time procedures were executed on 3 Oct to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to verify the value of the CPE warm start count. The CPE warm start count has remained unchanged at the nominal value of 1. A Chandra press release was issued on 5 October in conjunction with the AAS HEAD meeting in San Franciso. The release described observations of the elliptical galaxy M87 that imply that outbursts and deep sounds have been generated by the central supermassive black hole for eons. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2006/m87/ The schedule of targets for next week is shown below and includes observations of NGC 3516 coordinated with XMM-Newton and RXTE. |
