During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. Real-time procedures were executed on Dec 4 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to perform a diagnostic dump of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE). Of note this week is the 25 Years of Chandra Science Symposium from Dec 3-6 in Boston, MA. The meeting covers active research in X-ray astronomy, with emphasis on the science that is enabled by the high angular resolution and spectral resolution provided by Chandra. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below, and includes an observation of AT2024wpp, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Nov 19 and is coordinated with NuSTAR, and observations of Betelgeuse, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Oct 21. |
