During the last week the observing schedule was interrupted due to high radiation associated with solar activity. The loads were autonomously halted at 10:29pm on Jun 7 by the ACIS radiation monitor through execution of SCS 107 for SI safing. All spacecraft actions were nominal. Loads for a replanned schedule were uplinked on May 10 for a return to science observations on May 11. Planned observations that were impacted by the interruption will be rescheduled. Real-time procedures were executed on Jun 7 to disable SCS-29, which was enabled during the safing sequence, and to change the ObsID. A further real-time procedure was executed on Jun 8 to start an ACIS external calibration source measurement during the radiation shutdown. An additional real-time procedure was executed on Jun 11 to determine new values for the HRC-S high-voltage ramp-up steps. The new voltage compensates for an expected decrease in HRC-S gain over the course of the mission. Chandra press and image releases were issued on Jun 11 describing research to understand the growth of supermassive black holes (SMBH) from the early Universe to the present. Using data from Chandra combined with observations from XMM-Newton and eROSITA along with supercomputer simulations, accretion was found to be the main driver of SMBH growth, favored over the principal competitor, mergers following galaxy collisions. For details, see https://chandra.harvard.edu/press/24_releases/press_061124.html Further Chandra press and image releases were issued on Jun 12 describing a study of stars close enough to the Sun that they could be prime targets for direct imaging searches for planets using future telescopes. Observations from Chandra and XMM-Newton were used to assess the amount of X-ray and ultraviolet radiation received by these planets; such radiation can damage or even strip away the planets' atmospheres.
