During the last week Chandra's observing schedule was interrupted by a reset of the ACIS watchdog timer at 2022:016:05:23z. This reset the ACIS flight software to the original version, making ACIS data of non-scientific quality. CAPs were run on Jan 16 to manually activate SCS 107 to stop the science loads and safe the science instruments, to disable SCS 29, and to verify the ACIS patchlist and restart ACIS. Observations were resumed on Jan 18 at 1900z. Scheduled observations that were impacted by the anomaly will be rescheduled in future weeks. A total of 173.5 ks of science time was lost due to the anomaly. The schedule of targets for the next week includes observations of 47 Tuc, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Dec 10 and is coordinated with ATCA. |
