During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to include
an observation of GRB 051221 that was accepted as a 1 day turn-around
Target Of Opportunity (TOO) on 21 Dec. Loads were replanned and
uplinked on Dec 22. Observations of RX J0806.3+1527 and HGC 30 were
impacted by the TOO and will be rescheduled in a later load.
A brief episode of anomalous telemetry was received from the HRC instrument on Dec 15 and is under investigation. The anomalous data were seen in the secondary engineering portion of the telemetry stream and had no operational impact. No corruption of the X-ray event data was observed. Of note last week was the release of the Chandra Cycle 8 Call For Proposals on Dec 16 with a deadline for proposal submission of 15 March 2006. The Mission Planning team worked hard to develop a 2 week schedule to cover the holidays as shown below. Of note is the continuation of the long series of observations of 47 Tuc (500Ks in this schedule), and observations of M31 and M87 coordinated with HST. |
