Friday 5 August 2005 7.00am EDT
Last week the observing schedule was halted due to high radiation
associated with solar flare activity. The loads were halted on Aug 1
at 8:16pm EDT through a ground command to execute the SI Safing SCS
107. This ensured that the accumulated radiation dose for ACIS
remained below the allowed threshold. Loads were restarted at 12:00am
EDT on Aug 3. Observations of Sgr A*, IRAS05436-0007 and PKS 1030-357
were impacted by the event (total 76.3 Ks).
A real time procedure was completed on Aug 4 to disable SCS 29 as a clean-up action to the SCS 107 run on Apr 1. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes 2 observations of the Coronet Cluster coordinated with the VLA and an observation of V4046 Sgr coordinated with HST. |
