Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 29 January 2016 9.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Real-time procedures were executed on Jan 22 to disable SCS-29 and to dump and clear the EPS glitch counters as post-eclipse season actions.

Of note this week was the release on Jan 27 of version 4.8.2 of the Contributed Scripts and Modules package. Included in the package was a new script that changes the normalization of a source model so that the total predicted signal matches the observed data as well as updates and bug-fixes to existing scripts. For details see: http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao4.8/download/scripts/history.html

Also of note this week was the announcement that Sherpa 4.8.0 is available on GitHub. For details see: http://cxc.cfa.harvard.edu/contrib/sherpa/

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of SN2016G, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Jan 11, an observation of ASASSN 16at, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Jan 26, observations of 2MASS J07221747+0851566 and SDSSJ112104.93+432141.6 coordinated with ground-based observatories, and an observation of the Crab coordinated with HST.
