Operations CXO Status Report

Saturday 25 September 1999 8.00am EST

During the last 24 hours Chandra continued to observe GTO program targets and performed an ACIS calibration measurement prior to radiation belt entry. At 8.55PM 8/24 the spacecraft entered its fourth eclipse and the team monitored the 69 minutes duration and reported expectedperformance from the power system. A post-belt ACIS calibration measurement will be made following radiation belt exit. The ACIS was placed out of the focus position during the belt passage.

The next mission schedule was generated and is in review. The command loads are planned for uplink at approx 4PM 9/25 and will run until 9/29. The schedule includes the GTO targets RCW 102, NGC 1275 and the Trapesium Cluster as well as a series of HRC calibration measurements of Ar Lac.

The spacecraft systems continued to operate nominally.
