Operations CXO Status Report

Wednesday 22 September 1999 11.00am EST

During the last 24 hours observations of GTO targets continued up until the entry into the radiation belts. The regular ACIS pre-belt calibration source measurement was made, and the science instruments safed for belt passage. A post belt ACIS measurement will be completed at approx 4PM 9/22.

The observatory passed through its 3rd eclipse successfully at 5AM 9/22 and again showed performance that matched predictions. This eclipse lasted for 64 minutes. The next eclipse will occur at 8.55PM 9/24 and will last 69 minutes. Spacecraft systems continued to operated nominally.
