Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 20 April 2018 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Of note this week was the release on Apr 19 of CIAO 4.10 and SAOImage DS9 7.6. The CIAO package now includes pre-built binaries for a number of Linux and Mac operating systems, default support for Python 3.5, support for pixel mask filtering, and several script updates. The DS9 release includes new ports for Windows 32/64 bit and MacOS High Sierra, enhanced smoothing options, and support for HTTPS. For details see: http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao4.10/releasenotes/ciao_4.10_release.html

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes observations of Sgr A* coordinated with the Event Horizon Telescope and NuSTAR, and an observation of M87, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Apr 2 and is coordinated with NuSTAR.
